Texas State Board Of Dental Examiners Still Require Dental Offices To Follow COVID Emergency Rules And Still Require Everyone To Wear A Mask Regardless Of Governor Ruling

We all have grandparents, grandparents, and our own mother and father who have reached a certain age where they aren’t as strong as they were before. They could possibly have many underlying conditions, such as respiratory illnesses or weaknesses, and other tragic diseases that could cause them to have a weaker immune system. While we want our loved ones to be able to enjoy the same things we do, we have to make sure that they are safe and are not endangering themselves because of wanting to go outside. While it is physically impossible to just stay at home and be content, it is advised that the people 60+ should avoid leaving their homes, and should never go to places where young people could possibly give them the Coronavirus.

Here are a few reasons why the elderly shouldn’t leave their homes(unless it is an emergency):

  1. Many stores, such as Costco, now have timings in which only people above the age of 60 can shop.
  • Due to this pandemic, many stores have decided to dedicate certain days to allow the elderly to shop without the worry of young people being near them. This allows the elderly to only have to leave their homes once, as they can buy everything for the week without having to worry about going back. If this were not an option, we would have cause to worry as even now many stores are packed with people.2. The coronavirus affects those with weaker immune systems.
  • While we want to deny it, the sad truth is that most of our elders have weaker immune systems due to the effects of aging. If the coronavirus were to get into an elder, it would be very hard to recover, and could even lead to fatality. In order to not have this as an option, staying home is the best way to prevent COVID-19 from getting into our loved ones.

Even though these are a few steps, they can help to save thousands of lives. Stay safe and always try to keep the elderly at home, unless it is an emergency.
